Quality, reliability, and security should be your top concerns when it comes to purchasing MICR Toner. You don’t always get those three important features with remanufactured and refurbished cartridges, or even other MICR “OEM-compatible” cartridges. We can say this because, not only do we rigorously test our own MICR Toner cartridges, we also test competitive offerings.
And since we’ve released new TROY MICR Printers and Toners this year, we saw an opportunity to help you understand why TROY is the leader in MICR toner technology.
At TROY, MICR is our expertise. With over 55 years of experience – and a 25 year partnership with HP – we have a long history of MICR development. But it’s not just our history that makes us qualified experts in the field. We also continually invest in, research, develop, and support MICR technology. We operate our own self-sustained toner manufacturing facility, and a dedicated facility for printer performance and signal readings. Our facility also contains a full-functioning paper, analytical, and quality laboratories. TROY’s dedicated R&D team offers a combined 100 years of experience in the MICR field.
Technicians in our very own research facility develop all TROY MICR toners through a significant amount of engineering effort. The end result is a superior MICR product with exceptional performance. Our MICR solution provides exceptional adhesion, page yield, consistency, reliability and, of course, security.
We test all TROY toners using several instruments designed to analyze and measure MICR characters readability. This ensures both magnetic signal and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) meet or exceed ANSI standards. Before we release a new product, an independent lab tests and confirms the MICR character quality. They qualify that the total TROY MICR solution1 has a less than 0.2% reject rate2. This means little to no return payments for the user.
The same cannot be said for the competing OEM-compatible and remanufactured cartridges. After thorough testing of competitive offerings, we identified a variety of print quality defects. These include streaking, poor adhesion, low magnetic signal strength, lower than expected page yield, and toner dumping inside the printer. All of which would clearly void the HP OEM printer warranty.
When you think of the money saved purchasing a non-TROY cartridge, consider this: Is the savings really worth the risk?
When using TROY MICR toner, there’s no need to worry about a check’s vital information being hard to read and getting rejected by the bank.
Of course, MICR toner is only one part of a total solution. To print the most secure checks, a MICR printer for checks, blank check paper, check printing software, and digital signatures are needed. Utilizing all these components for AP or payroll check printing gives you the most efficient and secure workflow.
Check fraud shows no signs of slowing down. So, let us help you find a MICR solution which fits your print volume requirements and security needs. We’ve been in the secure check printing industry for over 55 years. We take pride in offering quality, integrity, and most of all security and value our customers and their businesses.
You don’t have time to experiment with subpar solutions. Buy Quality, Integrity, and Security with each TROY toner cartridge. Contact us at 304-232-0899, email Secure@troygroup.com, or visit TROY Check Printing Solutions to learn more about TROY OEM MICR Solutions.
1 The total TROY MICR toner solution consists of the TROY MICR Printer, TROY MICR Toner, and TROY MICR Fonts.
2 Quality testing is completed through PIRA or APACS (it is now called C&CCC) testing. PIRA is the independent lab. PIRA will verify adhesion, scalpel and blue tack testing, as well as the MICR character pretesting.
Check & Credit Clearing Company (C&CCC) is the final reader sorter testing which has to be below 0.2% reject rate. C&CCC organizes two tests at two different member banks in the UK. These tests confirm the MICR character quality and allow TROY to sell products in the UK.
