The Importance of a Maintenance & Service Agreement for Your Check Printer

TROY Group, Inc. April 1, 2019

We’ve all purchased an electronic device from a retail shop and they ask if you want to buy the extended warranty. Depending on the importance of the purchase you decide if the additional protection is worth it. When it comes to your check printer, that additional protection will give you peace of mind knowing a certified technician will be at your door.

TROY’s Maintenance & Service Agreements

It’s protection for your printer. You have enough to do already; getting payroll, accounts payable, and other payments out the door on time. You can’t afford a malfunctioning printer. And we understand that importance. That’s why we offer the following warranty, on-site service, and maintenance agreements.

Standard Warranty Included with Your Printer

Also known as the Depot Warranty, this is the standard coverage you get with your purchase; the one-year return to TROY. Once received at our facility, our depot repair department will fix your printer within 10 business days and return it back to you. If your device cannot be fully repaired, a replacement is provided at no charge.

While the standard warranty covers you in the event of an unforeseen issue, can you really afford to be without your check printer? No? We didn’t think so either. That’s why we offer service agreements to keep you covered when you need it most.

On-Site Service¹

To get you up and running in a timely manner, we offer Same Day and Next Day On-Site Service.

  • Same Day: a technician will contact you within 4 business hours to schedule on-site maintenance
  • Next Day: you will get a call within 9 business hours to schedule your maintenance

On-site technicians are certified to replace both TROY and HP parts, even for the most secure TROY models, meaning you can avoid check printing delays. If the printer is not able to be repaired, we will replace it. You absolutely want to say yes to this coverage when asked to protect your printer!

Preventative Maintenance Service²

It’s like getting an oil change for your car: a standard practice that lengthens the life of your printer. With our preventative maintenance service, a technician will come on-site to install your maintenance kit once the display panel advises maintenance is due or when the printer’s maintenance count is within 15% of the kit replacement cycle.

We highly recommend preventative maintenance to keep your printer running at full capacity.

The Advantages to On-Site Service

You don’t have time to deal with the inconvenience of your check printer malfunctioning, especially before or during an important check run. The advantages of having on-site service and maintenance agreements in place will help you get up and running quicker in the event that something does go wrong with your printer.

Service and maintenance agreements:

  • Avoid check printing delays.
  • Provide peace of mind knowing a certified TROY technician will come the same day or within the next business day.
  • Ensure any TROY or HP component will be repaired correctly.
  • Keep your machine running at top performance to ensure checks print efficiently when you need.
  • Cover you in the event the printer cannot be fixed; it will be replaced.

Instead of looking at this as an additional cost to your printer purchase, think about the added benefits you get when you printer is properly maintained by a certified professional.
